Good “journalism” at it’s best!

Today I got home from work and decided to hop on my computer and see what is going on in the interwebs only to find one of the dumbest opinion articles I have ever seen. What’s the name of this article you may ask?
Why Xbox LIVE is Worth the Money – And PSN Is Not
Yes it is in extremely large text but if you take a trip to N4G.com you can find it on the front page and I just don’t feel like linking it to my blog. As you can tell from the article title this guy brings a “professional” view on why Xbox Live is worth every penny.
His reason are:
- Community
- Lag free gameplay (lol)
- Twitter, Facebook, and Last.FM
- DLC Add-ons (Like no OTHER platform does that)
- Netflix
With that list I can only agree with Netflix, because I often times use my 360 as a glorified Netflix player (I even referred to it as that one time in a conversation with some friends, got a good laugh on that one). I have been a member of Xbox Live for a few years now and while I planned to end my subscription at some point, the Netflix bomb was dropped and I had a reason to continue giving Microsoft my hard earned cash. Granted I enjoy Halo very much but to see what has been done to the franchise since Combat Evolved is equivalent to what Lucas did you Star Wars. Not only is the game laggy most of the time in a Team Slayer ranked match (I only stick to MLG Playlist now), but your shots from the Battle Rifle don’t even register with Microsoft’s “superior service” half the time. Of course this guy wouldn’t notice it because he is having such a fun time being a fanboy he’s oblivious to it. Let’s not even get me started on Gears of War 1 and 2! Here is a Pro Tip for Epic: Next time do an open or maybe even a closed beta you moron. I purchased an unfinished product that is still riddled with issues to this day! Then they want to charge you for some horribly made maps and a “Deleted Scene”. Cliffy B I have three words for you: LICK MY BALLS!
Moving on to the DLC topic; I tend to stay away from DLC because that crap should have been in the game to begin with! In the defense of Fallout 3 I feel that the DLC was a great continuation of an already long game, I didn’t buy them because I still haven’t taken the time to finish the full game yet, but they actually ADDED something to the game as a whole, so kudos to them. Going into the twitter and Facebook support, most phones have that on the ready, once you even turn them on, and if your phone doesn’t then you must have a computer handy if your reading this! When I want to get on the mouth-breather cesspool that is Facebook I will go to my wonderful PC or even my Palm Pre, and that goes double for Twitter. You want to integrate Twitter with games Microsoft? Then do what Naughty Dog did and add it to your game, and give live updates of your progress. That’s innovation! Looks like that other free service got you there huh?
Going into the fanboy comments about the PSN, while I agree it isn’t perfect it is in fact free and you can’t argue with the low price of free! PSN even has DLC available to download as well, I know shocking right? When I got my PS3 I knew I wasn’t going to get the ultimate online gaming experience out of the package but now I can practically do the same garbage on PSN as I can do on XBL then who is really the winner? MICROSOFT because they managed to get all of us dumbasses into believing that XBL is worth the price! The PSN has offered me a fun experience that is well worth the money, oh wait it’s free!
I’m in no way a fanboy, like the PlantXbox360 d-bag over there, but to go as far as to say that XBL has a “better community” then PSN is just a retarded statement. He said he played CoD4 for almost a full day and he didn’t come across at least one ignorant little racist named “DarkSniper187″! I find that really hard to believe.
To simply put it, no “journalist” should write an article like that because it shows you have no class as a writer and all you want is hits for your little site so do us all a favor and STFU!
Now if you would excuse me I am going to own some people in Uncharted 2 now.
Admin’s Note: I can care less about the “Console wars” because everyone has an opinion, but to write a an article like that on an Xbox 360 website and then post it on N4G as if it is relevant “news” is stupid and if you won’t agree with me then tough. I am not a gaming news site, I have a blog and will write my opinion so deal with it.
